    Dosa is a type of pancake made from a fermented batter. It is somewhat similar to a crepe but its main ingredients are rice and black gram. Dosa is a typical part of the South Indian diet and popular all over the Indian subcontinent.

    Masala Dosa:

    Masala dosa or masale dose is a variant of the popular South Indian food dosa,which has its origins in Tuluva Mangalorean cuisine made popular by the Udupi hotels all over India.

    Neer Dosa:

    Neer dosa literally meaning water dosa in Tulu Language is a crêpe prepared from rice batter. Neer dosa is a delicacy from Tulu Nadu region and part of Udupi – Mangalorean cuisine.


    Upma, uppumavu or uppittu is a common South Indian, Maharashtrian, and Sri Lankan Tamil breakfast dish, cooked as a thick porridge from dry roasted semolina or coarse rice flour.

    Ragi Rotti:

    Ragi rotti is a breakfast food of the state of Karnataka, India. It is most popular in the rural areas of southern Karnataka. It is made of ragi flour. Ragi-Rotti means ragi-pancake in the native language, Kannada.

     Ragi Adai:

    This Ragi Adai is the spicy version that is made using finger millet flour (Nachchni in Hindi) which is usually made for breakfast or dinner. A healthy and wholesome breakfast especially for people with Diabetes.

     Rava Idli:

    Rava idli is a variation of the popular South Indian breakfast item, idli, made with rava or Bombay rava.

    Rava Dosai:

    Rava Dosa (Finger millet) made from Sooji rava flour, more popular in Karnataka and Udipi restaurants in Mumbai.

     Mallige Idli:

    Mallige Idli is one of the most common and versatile Karnataka breakfast made with beaten rice or Poha, cooked rice, idli rice, sour yoghurt and urad dal. Mallige in Kannada means Jasmine, hence this dish is also known as Jasmine idli and as Kushboo Idli in Tamil Nadu.

    Akki Roti:

    Akki rotti is a rice-based breakfast item unique to the state of Karnataka, India but extremely popular. Akki rotti means “rice bread” in the native language, Kannada.


    Sevai or shyavige or santhakai is a type of rice vermicelli popular in Southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu (Kongunadu region) and Karnataka.
